It is proposed that we commission and produce a Commemorative Badge to celebrate our Viking Experience this year, and we therefore ask for the help of the ‘young’ members of our District to do this. As such we are running a competition to find the best design from each of the sections. We ask that everyone think about what they would like the badge to look like and have on it, draw this using pens / pencils, computers etc and give them to their leaders for submitting.

Remember that badges are generally small, and as such too much detail will be lost, simple but effective is perhaps the way forward. The design should be round in shape, and must fit inside a 2” (50mm) circle, and can be multi coloured.

The theme for the Badge is

The overall winning Design in each section (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Leaders) will be made into a Pin Badge which will be handed out to every young person (and adult) at the Event.

So get your thinking cap on, come up with an idea, draw your design, and then get badge design back to your Section Leader as soon as possible.

Each Group / Section is to collect all the entries from their members and then send all the designs to us. The Organisation Team will then select the winning design for each section out of the Best Group choices.

 All entries are to be submitted to by the 20^th April 2011 at the latest

Entries can be in either hard copy, or emailed in jpeg form, please ensure that each Group badge entry is identified with the Section / Group they belong to.

All entries will be able to be seen on the website after the close of the competition and the winner has been announced.
